ABOUT
Choosing the right care for your child is not an easy decision. You have to feel 100% happy with who you pick to care for the most precious people in the world to you. Being able to work or go out knowing that your child will be safe, cared for and above all happy, means you are able to relax, focus or have fun.
When the children start with me, they or yourself will fill in an "All About Me" book, which tells me everything I need to know to start minding your child. A base from which I can build upon. With this in mind, I thought it would be a good idea to tell you a little bit about me.
My name is Alison and I am a single mother to a lovely young lady, Iona. My daughter is the single most important person in the world to me and like all parents, I am incredibly proud of her. She wants to be a teacher when she leaves school and she is fantastic with children of all ages, particularly the little ones. She will be a big part of your child's time with me and if your children are anything like the ones I have now then I don't stand a look in when Iona is around. They love her.
I am an artist and will often have a painting or two on the go, which I work on in my spare time. This creativity continues into my setting. Messy play is a regular event so make sure your children don't wear their "Sunday Best" clothes to visit me.
I live in a 3 bedroom end terrace house, with the entire downstairs available to the children (except the kitchen, which is secured to stop children accessing it). The garden is accessible from the playroom and french doors allow me to supervise children at all times no matter where they are located. I live near to 2 parks and within 10 minutes walking distance of Tamworth town center. There is easy access to 3 local bus routes (all within 5 minutes walk) We have two Guinea Pigs, Arthur and Merlin, who love to have a fuss from the children.
I am Ofsted registered, DBS checked, insured and have my Pediatric First Aid.

Child Safety
Your child's safety is the most important thing whilst they are in my care. I carry out daily risk assessments prior to any children arriving at my setting to ensure everyhting is as safe as possible. There are additional safety measures in place too, including:
-
Stair gates at the top and bottom of the stairs.
-
Hi-Vis Jackets for outings.
-
Socket protectors in all sockets without a plug.
-
Water temperature set to low so water never runs more than warm.
The house has been inspected by the Fire Service to ensure smoke alarms and Carbon Monoxide detectors are in the correct places and that I have a current, safe fire evacuation plan. The children will be involved with fire drills once a month.
